Port Douglas Tourism Awards

The Port Douglas Tourism Awards are held annually. The awards are presented at a Gala Dinner which is the social highlight of the year. The award recognises the achievements of local businesses within the Port Douglas, Daintree and Mossman areas.

The aim of the Business & Tourism Awards is to celebrate a the very best in service. Visitors to the region as well as local people are encouraged to vote for their favorite tour or local business.

This year, Norseman was nominated in the 2016 Port Douglas Business and Tourism awards category of Best Fishing Charter. We were up against some pretty stiff competition including some of the game fishing boats. We were so excited when we were told we were a finalist in the Port Douglas Tourism Awards!

The Gala Event

Our awesome owner Mick, organised a table for our business at the  2016 Port Douglas Tourism Awards Gala.

It was a great night, and a lovely opportunity for our team to all relax and enjoy ourselves together. Mick purchased the business in December 2015, and all of us have worked very hard this year to deliver on great customer service. Improving the business has taken a great deal of dedication and effort.

Lots of proud winners in the preceding categories were announced, and then we got to the Best Fishing Charter Category.

When the MC announced that Norseman were the winners, the room literally exploded. Or maybe it was just our table! Much shrieking, yelling, hugs and smiling ensued. Along with a few leaky eyes!

To see our fabulous Skipper James and gun Deck hand Kevon up there accepting the award, well it just doesn’t get much better than that.

We are so proud of our great crew, they all put their heart and soul into delivering a great day of fishing to our guests.

The award was great to win, as local people and customers voted for us. These very important people recognised the efforts we have gone to this year. Well done Norseman crew! Thank you to all who voted for us.
